Project completion: Oct 2009
Sectors: Infrastructure
Project location: Lagos, Nigeria

Eko Atlantic City is being constructed in six phases that will ultimately result in the creation of 9km2 of prime land, requiring a reclamation area of 2 x 7km and sand winning of no less than 100 million m3.
CARES were awarded a contract to conduct an Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) of the Dredging Activities that would be used to create a new part of Lagos City, providing land for financial, residential, and commercial and leisure districts and an intended resident population of 250,000.
The Contractors involvement in the optimisation process, as well as the coordination efforts with the local authorities, were important factors influencing the feasibility and continuation of the Project.
To support Phase I of the Project CARES completed an ESIA of the dredging activities.
