Project completion: Jan 2016
Sectors: Infrastructure
Project location: Apapa, Nigeria

CARES were commissioned by Lilypond Container Terminals to complete a study into the feasibility of developing a spur line from the mainline railway into the Lilypond Container Terminal.
The spur line would allow the transfer of containers by railway between the Lilypond and Apapa Container Terminals during stemming operations.
It was intended that this would improve the efficiency of operations by avoiding the transfer of containers within the heavily congested roads surrounding the ports.
The Feasibility Study completed by CARES included the spur line preliminary design as well as a cost analysis.
